What We Do

Sponsorship Program
10.5 Percent of the total children are still out of the schools to family background, financial problems, or their parents may be illiterate. The parents may work in the field which means they get low wages and they don’t necessarily have a stable job for the future. The family may not have enough land for farming and therefore don’t grow any crops for the household. If they do have land, the whole family depends on it, which means all their funds and resources would go into farming, labour and anything else necessary. This means that they won’t be able to afford school for their children, therefore they become uneducated. Sometimes, the family is only able to pay the school fees for half a year, this means that the child doesn’t complete their school education. Another reason children may not go to school is due to their being discrimination between sons and daughters in the family. Once the daughter is married, they move in with their husbands and they don’t agree that education is needed.
Some parents are not able to supply their children with school materials such as reading books, exercise books, stationary, uniform, shoes or bags. They may also not be able to pay the admission and tuition fee. So, BFN has started a sponsorship program to help the children complete their education.
BFN would like to invite individual, groups, families, organisation and companies to sponsor the children here in Nepal. It costs 50 Euro per year to sponsor one child which gives them the education they deserve. In return, you will receive regular communication and annual school reports of your sponsored child.
